Art&Shock Masterclass

We are happy to announce the first edition of

Art&Shock Masterclass!

In the first week of November, the lovely Liya Petrova, Viktoria Vassilenko and Alexander Somov will lead the violin, piano and cello classes. The master class is suitable for professional musicians: students, bachelors and masters, as well as those who have completed their higher education instrumentalists between the ages of 12 and 30. Enrollment is by videotaped audition. The selection of the active participants will be carried out by the committee made up of the teachers. Eight active participants will be approved for each instrument, and the masterclass is completely free. For the violin and cello lessons, pianists are provided, and access to the listeners is free.

The lessons will be held in the period 01-04.11.2023 at two locations:

Boris Christoff Museum, 43 Tsar Samuil Street

Art&Shock, 15 Bratya Miladinovi Street

On 04.11.2023 at 7:00 p.m., in the “Bulgaria” Chamber Hall, a concert of the teachers will be held, together with some of the most outstanding students, who will play in various chamber formations. Those selected to participate in the concert will be notified by 15.10.2023 at the latest.

The master class will end with a concert by the students on November 6, 2023 at 7:00 p.m., on the stage of the Boris Christoff Museum.

Audition and selection of participants:

Anyone interested should send:

  • two names and brief information about yourself (how old you are, whether you are a student or have already completed your music education)
  • phone number for feedback
  • a video recording of a work of your choice with an artistic nature (part of a concerto; part of a sonata/suite; a virtuoso piece, a miniature, etc.)

Applicants’ videos must meet the following criteria:

  • the performance of the opportunity to be created both in a home environment and in another room
  • the video recording must be made with a stationary fixed camera showing the performer in full
  • videos with side effects or editing will not be allowed for consideration
  • video files can be sent via the following platforms: Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another convenient platform
